Interview with Billy James on Outsight Radio Hours. Billy James does extensive work with innovative musicians with ties to Alice Cooper (original group), Mothers of Invention, Frank Zappa, and Captain Beefheart. We discuss these record projects, including ANT-BEE and its help in resurrecting Beach Boys' "Smile" material. Billy James is an author too and we discuss his two-volume study of Todd Rundgren and the book he co-authored with Michael Bruce.
The 4 March 2012 interview with Billy covers his involvement with the DVD documentaries 'From Straight To Bizarre - Zappa, Beefheart, Alice Cooper and LA's Lunatic Fringe' and 'Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - In The 1960s'.
The 2-June-2013 interview with Billy announces the first CD edition of ANT-BEE music from a quarter century previous. During the discussion, Billy gives an overview of working on the Bruce Cameron album. With no real limit to costs due to family funds, Cameron had a supergroup of guest musicians for his album only to commit suicide shortly after it was released.
Billy returned to the show 27-Oct-2013 to discuss the book 'Lunar Notes - Zoot Horn Rollo's Captain Beefheart Experience' (http://www.gonzomultimedia.co.uk/product_details/15581/Bill_Harkleroad-Lunar_Notes_-_Zoot_Horn_Rollo's_Captain_Beefheart_Experience.html) written by Bill Harkleroad (Zoot Horn Rollo) with Billy James which has been reprinted after being out of print for over a decade. The book is now available from GONZO MultiMedia UK.
